Introduction to Interim Principal, Erin Olson

Posted June 30, 2023

Please read below for a special message from Bruce Randolph School’s 2023-24 Interim Principal:

Dear Bruce Community,

I am excited to have been named the Interim Principal at Bruce Randolph and to join the Grizzly community. This coming school year will be my 9th in Denver Public Schools as I began my career at the North Engagement Center as a social studies teacher and basketball coach. Following my time at NEC, I moved to CEC Early College as the Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal, and most recently as the Learn to Lead Principal Resident.

I am excited to join the amazing students, families, community members and staff at Bruce Randolph as we work to continue to support students toward career and college success. This summer, I am hard at work preparing for the upcoming year by meeting students who are attending summer programming, stopping through some open gym and summer workouts, and working with various staff members on our planning for the 23-24 school year.

As we look to the year ahead, we are setting ambitious goals in several key areas:

  • Improving attendance as we know attendance is linked to academic success
  • Improving our school culture to make sure every student experiences a safe and welcoming environment
  • Improving classroom instruction to ensure that each classroom is a joyful and engaging place that supports academic, social, and emotional growth of each student.

I am looking forward to partnering with you and your families in the weeks and months ahead. I will have a few meet and greet events at the end of July/early August so that I can get to know you before the school year begins including during 6th and 9th grade academy. Please make sure you are following Bruce Randolph on Instagram and Facebook so that you are receiving all school updates and reminders for these events and more.

If you need anything sooner or would like to schedule time to meet, please reach out via email or call 720.423.1082. Have a great rest of the summer and see you in the fall.

Go Grizzlies!
